My Little Pony Café Blends New & Old Character Designs
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Sanrio characters might have the corner on tie-in cafés and clinics, but there's still room for My Little Pony fans in Japan.
A My Little Pony café opened in Harajuku this month to serve fans of the original toy line and cartoon and newcomers who discovered Apple Jack, Lickety-Split, and Rainbow Dash in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic cartoon. The shop serves up coffee and lattes with café art, juice, milkshakes, sweet treats, and sandwiches. Each dish is placed on character-themed plates with My Little Pony straws. Sprinkles are added whenever and wherever possible. The walls include murals of franchise characters and a real pony is stationed outside for visitors to pet.
The shop is inside The Harujuku Sunday Jam but unfortunately makeover isn't here to stay. It's a limited event and will only be open until November 29.
