Crowd Goes Wild During Idolm@ster SideM Anime Announcement

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The IDOLM@STER SideM 2nd Stage ~Origin@l Stars~ concerts took over Makuhari Messe on February 11 and 12, featuring songs from the mobile game's in-universe idol groups. The voice actors that make up DRAMATIC STARS, High×Joker, Cafe Parade, Altessimo and more performed to a huge crowd. Ticket holders knew they were in for great musical performances, but they were even more surprised when staff announced an anime adaptation on Sunday.

The Idolm@ster SideM will have another event that the Niconico Live service will stream at the Ani-On Station Akihabara venue in Tokyo on March 15 ("315 Day"). The event will feature voice actors Shugo Nakamura and Yūma Uchida, and it will also reveal a new visual, the production staff, and other details for the anime. The anime's official website will have more details, and the April issue of Gakken's Otomedia magazine (on sale March 10) will highlight the franchise on its cover and in the lead feature.

The series' website also contained a hidden message from the game's fictional president recruiting male and female producers.

The Idolm@ster SideM game launched in July 2014, and is available for iOS and Android devices, as well as on Mobage and ChromeApps. Like other games in The IDOLM@STER franchise, SideM is built on the concept of "idols you can produce." The app focuses on the male idols at the agency 315 Production (pronounced "Saikō Production" or "Ultimate Production"). The app now has more than one million downloads.
