Granrodeo's GraP & RodeO Anime's 2nd Episode Streamed

Lead singer Kishō Taniyama stars as a rock fan

Music production company Lantis began streaming the second episode of the GraP & RodeO original anime inspired by the musical duo GRANRODEO (Kuroko's Basketball opening themes) on Wednesday.

In this episode, RodeO asks GraP if the hairstyle GraP suggested will really help him become a rock star. GraP assures him (while snickering) that, in the future, that hairstyle is very fashionable, but RodeO figures he's lying. RodeO's mother, Madako (Aya Saitō), comes in when she hears the noise. RodeO tries to get GraP to hide but Madako introduces herself and assumes GraP is a friend. Madako says RodeO has a strange haircut, and GraP agrees and the two laugh.

Then, Madako asks GraP if he has had dinner. She only has white rice, but GraP has never heard of white rice before so he joins them for dinner and he thinks it's delicious. There's a crash and a light goes out after GraP calls Madako by her first name and RodeO tells him to stop.

The anime follows RodeO, an exceedingly ordinary high school boy whose dream is "to become a rock star." A creature appears before RodeO and introduces itself as GraP, a music producer from the future. "I will make you a star!" Can GraP turn RodeO into a rock star like GRANRODEO?

GRANRODEO lead singer Kishō Taniyama is voicing RodeO himself, while Hiroki Konno of the comedy duo King of Comedy is voicing GraP. The other cast members include Yūsuke Katayama of the Hikarigoke comedy duo and Aya Saitō.

GRANRODEO's other member, Masaaki Iizuka is also performing the opening and ending theme songs. Taketo Shinkai (Kayoe! Chūgaku) is directing and writing the anime, and Jun Oson is providing the illustrations. Lantis and Pie in the sky are producing.

The first episode aired on BS Fuji on October 19 during GRANRODEO's Rodeo Club - Season II variety show. Tokyo MX aired the episode on November 4.
