Nozomi Uda's manga about listless boy, taciturn classmate launched in 2013

Square Enix's Gangan Online web manga site announced on Thursday that Nozomi Uda's Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge (Tanaka is Always Listless) manga will receive a television anime adaptation.

The youth comedy manga follows the ever-listless Tanaka and his taciturn classmate Ōta, who can't leave Tanaka alone.

Uda launched the series on the Gangan Online website in 2013, and Uda published the manga's 55th chapter on November 12. Square Enix will publish the manga's fifth compiled volume on November 21, and the company will also publish the "volume 5.5" official fanbook on the same day.

The anime's staff has opened an official website and Twitter account. The Twitter account revealed that the manga has more than 1 million copies in print. The website will reveal a comment by Uda and a specially drawn manga on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. in Japan (3:00 a.m. EST). The website has also revealed an anime teaser visual:
