MangaGamer Releases Grisaia Game Trilogy, Apologizes for Incorrectly Listing No Mosaics

MangaGamer's version is same as original Kickstarter-funded release

Game distribution platform MangaGamer released unrated editions of Frontwing's The Fruit of Grisaia, The Labyrinth of Grisaia, and The Eden of Grisaia games on Thursday. The specifications originally indicated that the games would not have mosaics, but this has been changed, as the mosaics to censor content are still present. MangaGamer commented, "Due to miscommunication & contractual obligations on the [developer's] end, including the exchange of uncensored PR materials, they will remain mosaiced."

The company also noted that it "made an attempt to acquire the uncensored version" but has thus far been unsuccessful. The company apologized for the error and is offering refunds.

MangaGamer's version is the same version that was originally distributed to backers of the Kickstarter campaign for the Western release.

Video game and visual novel translation company Sekai Project launched Frontwing's The Fruit of Grisaia on Steam in 2015 after meeting its Kickstarter goal for a Western release of the game trilogy. Frontwing and Sekai Project have also released other two games, The Labyrinth of Grisaia and The Eden of Grisaia, on Steam. All three of the original games inspired anime and manga adaptations.
