Shiohigari's Illustrations Inspire Shiohi Girls Vongole Bianco Web Anime Shorts

The first episode of the Shiohi Girls Vongole Bianco (Shiohi Girls White Clams) series of anime shorts began streaming on Wednesday. In the episode, titled "Romantic Cunning" (Romantic Cheating), a female student (voiced by Kana Hanazawa) says, "Tell me the answer. How do you feel about me?"
New episodes of the series will begin streaming every Wednesday and Friday at 6:00 p.m. JT, and two episodes will premiere every week. The series is streaming on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram.
Illustrator Shiohigari's "Shiohi Girls" illustrations are inspiring the shorts. Shiohigari, whose pen name may be translated as "collecting shells at low tide," is a self-described "cheap artist." The shorts feature prominent voice actors and staff members.
The anime's voice cast includes Hanazawa, Ai Kayano, Yuka Iguchi, Rina Hidaka, Misaki Kuno, and Konomi Kohara. Kenshirō Morii (BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! Pico, Wake Up, Girl Zoo!) is directing the series at DMM.futureworks and W-Toon Studio. Keigo Hoashi (Frame Arms Girl, Anime-Gataris) is composing the music. Onigawara is performing the opening theme song "Kimi wa Shiohi Girl" (Your Are a Shiohi Girl) and ending theme song "Romantic Jigen Bakudan" (Romantic Time Bomb).
