Kumamoto International Manga Fes. Welcomes Global Manga Creators
Kichijoji, Tokyo, Japan 14th of April 2017 - Coamix Inc. opens the Kumamoto International Manga Fes. (http://www.kk-mangasai.jp) on 15th of April 2017. The festival brings global manga creator's works to Kumamoto Prefecture for a celebration of smiles and laughter. The Kumamoto International Manga Fes. was developed by Coamix to celebrate the recovery efforts from the 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes and bring cheer to the people of Kumamoto Prefecture. As part of the festival, Coamix held the SILENT MANGA AUDITION® EXTRA ROUND TWO (SMAEX2) competition and attracted entries from manga creators around the world. The award winning entries are displayed during the two day festival along with Silent Manga from previous rounds. The highest award winners of SMA-EX2 are also invited to Japan for the award ceremony in Kumamoto Prefecture.
The Kumamoto International Manga Fes. Also features numerous illustrated signboards from legendary manga creators. The signboards will also be on display during the two day festival. Along with the signboards, illustrators from around the world sent their own illustrations of smiles to the festival. To celebrate the recovery efforts, the large number of illustrations were turned into a mosaic illustration of Kumamoto Castle.
Two short movies based on award winning Silent Manga are set to premier during the festival. The two movies will feature the Japanese movie stars Seishirō Katō, his brother Kenshiro Kato, and Hirofumi Arai. The movies will feature heart touching stories about smiles and precious gifts. The Kumamoto International Manga Fes. will be held at the Tsuruya Department Store between April 15-16, 2017.
