Wasabicon PDX, Portland's Annual Anime, Cosplay, and Gaming Event, Returns Next Month
The 2-Day long pop culture festival will take place at the Hilton Portland Downtown.
(PORTLAND, OREGON. June 22, 2023) WasabiCon PDX is a two-day pop culture convention for fans of Asian pop culture, cosplay, and gaming. Previously operating under the names Newcon PDX and Fandom PDX, the event (under new ownership since 2018) is set to welcome artists, vendors, and media guests the weekend of July 29-30, 2023 the Hilton Portland Downtown. The event sold out in advance in 2022 and hosted over 5,000 attendees.

WasabiCon PDX will feature over fifty exhibitors for attendees to peruse along with panels, contests, live performances, and more. This year, the event will feature Monica Rial who voices Tsuyu "Froppy" Asui in the English version of the hit Japanese animated superhero series My Hero Academia. The convention will also have two additional media guests for this year, Ian Sinclair who is the English voice actor of Brook in One Piece, and Alex Organ who provides the English voice of Loid “Twilight” Forger in SPY x FAMILY.
Tickets for a Weekend Pass are $35 until July 1, 2023 after which they will be $45. Single day admissions are $35 for Saturday and $25 for Sunday. These can be purchased at the door each day of the event - or in advance online (based on availability) on the WasabiCon PDX website (https://pdx.WasabiCon.com/). The event begins at 10:00 AM on both days with Saturday programming going until 1:00 AM and Sunday concluding at 6:00 PM.
